By mgarcia

Whether you are looking for different easy-to-follow rock crafts for your kids, or you just want to use readily available rocks to design your home, DIY rock projects are always fun.

Aside from using rocks that you can easily find in your area, it’s also nice to feel closer to nature. So, if you live near an area where rocks are available, then you will love these 6 easy and beautiful DIY stone craft ideas.

6 creative and fun rock crafts to try making

Pebble Doormat Rock Crafts

These stylish pebble doormats could cost a lot, but did you know that it’s really easy to make? You’ll need some white pebbles and a car mat for this one.

Wash the pebbles with your garden hose, and then lay the mat on a flat surface. Squeeze silicone sealant onto the bottom of your first pebble, and then press it into the corner of the mat.

Just repeat until you’ve covered the entire surface area of the mat with stones. You now have a beautiful doormat to use in front of your home’s entrances.

Spare Key Holder

This is one of the very useful crafts with rocks. First, you’ll need brown pebbles and an empty cylindrical bottle, such as a travel-sized shampoo bottle.

Glue the lid of the bottle and stick a pebble on top, and then, put your spare key inside the bottle and close the lid. Press the bottle into the soil or ground near your front door, with the pebble pointing up.

It’s so cool that you’d never know that it was hiding a bottle beneath the earth – just don’t forget where you’ve placed it!

Pebble People Tea Light Decoration

Did you know you can make decor with stones? This is also a great rock painting for kids idea when they are bored.

Let’s start with grey pebbles of different sizes. Lay a large, flat pebble on a surface, then glue the underside of a smaller pebble and stick it onto the flat pebble.

Repeat with another smaller pebble. Time to get creative! Use a white paint pen and black marker to draw your eyes onto your pebbles.

Once you are done, place a smaller, flat stone in front of your original pebble design and place a tea light on top.

It looks like the pebble people are sitting around their own little bonfires.

Pebble Photo Holder

Want to see other ideas for pebble art? Well, for this project, you’ll need cream-colored stones and a wire. Take a stone and bend the wire around it, wrapping it at least twice.

Then twist the wire to hold the stone in place.

Next, you will need to loop the top of the wire twice around your finger to create a circular design. Then repeat with one or two other stones.

Just place the stones on a flat surface with the wires pointing up and slot photographs into the circular wire at the top. It’s easy to do and very pretty too.

Pebble Teapot Holder

Getting the hang of craft ideas with stones? That’s good because we’re not done yet.

This project requires a handful of small brown pebbles and a piece of black cloth, cut into a circle.

Then, just glue the undersides of the pebbles and stick them to the cloth, covering its entire surface area. Place the pebble-covered cloth onto a flat surface, then fill a teapot and place it onto the stones.

You now have a safe, pretty teapot holder that’ll prevent heat damage to your wooden surfaces.

Cactus Stones

For this final project, you’ll need white stones of various sizes and some green paint. This is also one of the fun rock painting ideas for kids.

Start by painting one stone entirely with green paint, then use a white paint pen to draw cross markings on the surface. Repeat with two more stones.

Fill a small pot with sand or soil and place the stones into the pot. They look like adorable cartoon cacti.
