The busier life gets, the harder it is to make Date Nights possible. And to be honest, the busier it gets – the less creative we’ve become with coming up with at home Date Night ideas!
But I think it’s super important to make time to spend with your spouse as much as possible, especially when life is busy!
We have rarely had anyone to watch our kiddos for us. Because of this, we have to come up with fun and creative at-home Date Night Ideas if we want to have them!
Date Nights all start the same — kids have their dinner (usually something quick and fun), they get ready for bed, and then we tuck them in for the night early. Sometimes we let them camp out on the floor in their room watching movies until they fall asleep. They like having their fun nights when they know we’re having our Date Night!
8 Fun Stay at Home Date Night Ideas!
1. Pajama party!
Put on your favorite PJs, grab a couple of your favorite board games, some drinks, and enjoy the night playing games with your honey!
2. Romantic Nights for Two: Cook together!
There is something so incredibly romantic about cooking with my honey. Cook something you typically wouldn’t on other nights – so it’s special! Don’t forget dessert!
3. TV Marathon Night.
Grab some popcorn, some drinks, and watch a bunch of your favorite TV show episodes. Don’t have any shows that you like? Then pick out a couple of your favorite movies! I love browsing Netflix and Amazon Prime Instant Video for these! (Don’t have Amazon Prime? Start your 30-day free trial HERE)
4. Have a game night!
Prepare some snacks, and grab a few of your favorite board games and a deck of cards!
5. Have a DIY Photoshoot night!
When was the last time you were both in the same photo? Set up your camera on a tripod, or somewhere sturdy. Get dressed up, set the timer, and have some fun!
6. Talk all night.
This is one of those fun last minute date ideas. Grab some of your favorite snacks and drinks and talk about the things you have discovered about each other since you first met. Try to keep it positive! When weather permits, we love to sit outside on our balcony and talk alllll night long. It’s wonderful!
7. Catch the sunrise together!
I bet it’s been a while (if ever) since you watched the sunrise with your honey. Give it a try! Google what time the sun rises and then set your alarm about 20 minutes before. In the morning, grab some coffee and a blanket, and watch the sunrise with your love.
8. Paint Portraits.
Head out to your local craft store, and pick up some cheap canvases. Paint a portrait of each other while enjoying your favorite drinks and snacks. At the end of the night, reveal your artwork to each other! I’m sure you will both get some fun giggles out of this one!
A lot of these are super frugal, or at the very least, budget-friendly! They are ideas that are easy to implement, even if you don’t have a babysitter! Date Night doesn’t have to be expensive or out on the town, it can happen right in the comfort of your own home (or back yard)!
