Does your bathroom have one of those catch-all cabinets?
You know the one – it houses every random thing you keep in your bathroom.
I’m sharing a few really simple tips to help you tame the chaos in that cabinet!
My catch-all bathroom cabinet houses a lot of our extras, our towels, and toiletries that we use only every so often.
In most bathrooms, there is at least one cabinet that tends to be the catch-all for random things.
Here are my [super simple] tried and true tips to taming my catch-all bathroom cabinet.

Step 1: Declutter
This is an obvious step, but it may be harder to do for some than others. For me, this is particularly hard because I like to store away things for “just in case”.
If I buy a lotion I like – say a body butter for example – that didn’t get used up during the dry winter months, I’ll save it for the next time dry-skin season comes around.
I like to try different conditioners too but I don’t always finish them up, so I have a lot of unsaved conditioner bottles/jars in my cabinet.
I do this with a lot of different things, so over time – the cabinet fills up and just becomes a black hole.
Decluttering and tossing out all those unfinished bottles of things is a quick way to declutter and make space.
Step 2: Unpackage
Items like sanitary napkins come in boxes that take up a lot of unnecessary space, especially when the box is not full. I just like to fully unpack the box to avoid taking up excess space.
Step 3: Categorize
Once you have decluttered and unpackaged items, now it’s time to categorize them. Place all the lotions together, the extra shampoo bottles together, the first aid items together, feminine item needs together, and so on.
Step 4:Contain
I love how bins or baskets don’t just contain loose items in a cabinet or on a shelf, but they also add a touch of visual appeal.
Place the times you separated into their own bins, label the boxes if needed, and place them on the shelf within the cabinet.
I love these wicker basketsfor our bathroom and these more colorful baskets for the kids’ bathroom. This two-layer basket is an awesome way to use up the full top-to-bottom space on a shelf!
Viola!
These tips are a super simple way to organize that catch-all cabinet in your bathroom.
It wasn’t always this simple for me, so give it time – you’ll get there! I kept trying to line things up all neatly but eventually, they would always end up being a mess.
Since using baskets and bins to organize – I’ve been able to keep our cabinet organized, clean, and looking super cute!
It’s also helpful because you are fully aware of what you have and don’t have – thus helping you save a bit of money by keeping you from spending on items you don’t quite need yet.
Organization and money-saving? Total win-win for me!
